Denver Musician Shelly Rollison Announces
“Cardiac Flashback” EP Release Show

DENVER, CO (April 2018) – Singer-songwriter Shelly Rollison is releasing her first studio EP, Cardiac Flashback, into the world on May 25th, starting with a celebration of its release with a full-band show at The Walnut Room in Denver’s RiNo district on May 25th at 8 p.m. Accompanying performances at the event will include Denver-based band NAVY and San Francisco-based band The New Up.

Rollison has been steadily getting her feet wet in the Denver music scene since 2016, playing some of Denver’s beloved local venues, including Lost Lake, Lion’s Lair, and Syntax Physic Opera, as well as performing at Denver’s Underground Music Showcase and SoFar Sounds. In the short few years she’s begun recording music, she has released a self-recorded acoustic EP (Mountains), as well as two EP’s of covers songs, and six singles, including three singles from her Cardiac Flashback EP, “Mon Cheri,” “Shawshank,” and “Cardiac Flashback” in anticipation of the upcoming EP Release Show.

After a successful Indiegogo Crowdfunding campaign in 2017, Rollison recorded this first studio EP with producer and engineer Joe Richmond (Tennis, Churchill, Wildermiss). The EP ventures into an alternative indie rock feel, while still highlighting the soul in Rollison’s voice, which has been described by local listeners as having "a rock edge like Brandi Carlile,” but with “jazzy nuances.” It sounds like Billie Holiday meets Kings of Leon, while rubbing shoulders with Ani DiFranco.

On May 25th, listeners will experience the energy and dynamic of her full band at the EP Release Show, as well as the stripped down sincerity of her solo performance.

“This EP was birthed from a place of waking up to who I am. Realizing music is in my veins was a huge part of that,” says Rollison, who has only begun to write and record music seriously since 2016. Her songs create space for vulnerability, both in her own story, and others. “It’s never too late to step into who you truly are and go after the things you believe in.”
